Visit at Messina Hof Fredericksburg – Episode #265

Browse By

In this special episode of 1337 Wine TV, Mark visits the new tasting and B&B facility for Messina Hof in Stonewall (Fredericksburg), TX. While the actual winery is in Bryan, TX, they built a facility in the Hill Country to showcase their wines since this area is the most visited wine area in Texas. It’s also been called the 2nd fastest growing or 2nd most visited wine area in the country depending on the source of this statistic. No matter what, this area sees millions of people each year looking to experience Texas wine that has been improving in quality as a whole.

Steve Warren was my host this day and we tasted several wines. We tasted the Non Vintage Blanc Du Bois, 2010 Cabernet Franc Private Reserve Double Barrel, 2009 Zinfandel Private Reserve Double Barrel, Non Vintage Solera Texas Sherry, and finally the Non Vintage Beau.

Please be sure to check out the links below for the winery and the great book I am reading by Rudolph Chelminski called I’ll Drink to That: Beaujolais and the French Peasant Who Made It the World’s Most Popular Wine.
