After being away for several weeks I’ve returned. My mother passed away on April 27th; a few days after my return from vacation. I decided to return with an episode to explain my absence and to honor her memory. While my mother wasn’t a huge wine drinker, she did enjoy an occasional glass.
I chose two wines from the other half of her heritage in Germany and Austria. The first wine is the 2010 Gobelsburger Gruner Veltliner. This estate was once owned by the Habsburg Family in the 15th Century. Family lore is that we are related to them. The second wine is the 2010 Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Spatlese Riesling. Graacher Himmelreich means “Kingdom of God.”
