Mark is back with his annual Thanksgiving Day Special after skipping last year. Honestly, I forgot I didn’t do one. Mark does 3 wines he purchased from SommSelect. He bought a Thanksgiving Day 6-pack from them, but is breaking up the 6 pack in to two sets of 3. One for Thanksgiving and the other for Christmas. First up is the 2012 Dirler-Cade, “Belzbrunnen,” Riesling. Next is the 2015 Domaine Delarche, Pernand-Vergelesses “Les Combottes.” Finally Mark reviews the 2014 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot, Passetoutgrain AOP. Just a correction to what he said as far as the proportions for the third wine, he said it was a 50/50-mix of Pinot Noir and Gamay. At the time he was pretty sure that wasn’t correct, but he got that info from a merchant website for the wine. The SommSelect tasting notes state 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Gamay. Both information is for the same wine and vintage. I’d tend to trust a Master Sommelier over someone else however.

Unfortunately there really isn’t any website out there that has information about Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot. There are a lot of merchant website that sell some of their wines, but nothing that’s just a regard site with information.
SommSelect – Where I buy about half of my wines for the show and the study group I am in. The best way to order is to either do a “Build-a-Case” or “Summer Hold” (during the summer) option where 1% of the wine cost is added to cover storage. Shipping is free since they’ll be shipping a case to you. For the Build-a-Case option, as soon as you hit 12 bottles, they’ll ship the case. The Summer Hold option applies to when it’s too warm to safely ship wine. Once it’s cool enough in your part of the country, they’ll ship it too you. I had almost 2 full cases of wine shipped to me this year. The shipment didn’t happen until almost the 2nd week of November as it stays pretty warm here in Texas.
