In this episode of 1337 Wine TV, Mark continues with the 3rd part of his 6-part series on how to do a video podcast. He discusses different types of cameras you can use. Everything from a cellphone to webcams to DSLRs. He covers the advantages and disadvantages of each type of camera and what his preferences are.

Mpow Selfie Stick – This is the one in the video.
FiLMiC Pro – A “pro” level video app for iOS and Android.
Eocean 54-Inch Selfie Stick Tripod – This is the super-compact tripod in the video. As of 9/7/18 it wasn’t available. See the link below for what appears to be a duplicate version from another company.
G-TING Thumb Drive Lightning Memory Stick External Storage – No longer available on Amazon as of 9/7/18 and they don’t have an ETA. I have 2 of these in 32GB capacity. They work fairly well but are sometimes finicky. They all require an app that you download from your app store (iOS and Android). I’ve listed two alternatives below, but I don’t own them. Based upon reviews that are overall better than this one, they SHOULD work about as well as the G-TING.
– Kingston Bolt USB 3.0 Flash Drive Memory Stick for Apple iPhone & iPads – This is the highest rated of this Lightning USB drives I can find on Amazon.
Moment Lenses and Cases – As of 9/7/18 the iPhone X case isn’t yet available. They say the case will ship mid-September 2018. Their lenses are considered some of the best, and this is where you get the filter adapter for their lenses and then but a lens hood. You can use a lens filter with a lens hood. Most photographers do this with their regular cameras.
Anker PowerCore 20100 – Ultra High Capacity Power Bank with 4.8A Output, PowerIQ Technology – This is among the highest capacities battery you can buy and legally fly with.
FAQ for Batteries on Planes – This is from the FAA and covers US regulations for all batteries including “Power Banks.” It includes a formula on how to figure out Watt Hours since that’s not normally listed in battery specs.
iGlasses – MacOS software that allows you to control camera settings for builtin webcams and external cameras.
James the Wine Guy – You should follow him and watch his video wine reviews. He kicks ass.
Fugetek Premium Mini Tripod Phone Mount – This is the mini tripod I mentioned. Works great.
FlipCam Available on Amazon still, but for this price get the video camera I recommend below. This camera is no longer made.
Canon PowerShot SX520 HS – This is the digital camera I have. Bought it used on eBay and it works great. You can save a lot. This link is for Amazon.
Canon VIXIA HF M500 – This is the camera I have. It’s over 6 years old so there are more current options.
Canon VIXIA HF R80 – This is the current version of the Vixia line (as of September 2018)
