In this special edition of 1337 Wine TV, Mark starts his trip to ProWein in Germany with a quick visit to the Mosel and the Dr. Loosen winery. He sits down with Ernst Loosen and his nephew Daniel Emmes for what is essentially a master class on German riesling. Earlier in the day Daniel took Mark to a few of the iconic vineyards in the area. Later they discuss 7 different rieslings and many other topics.

VDP – The Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates, abbreviated VDP), is an elite group of some 200 quality-oriented German vintners who are committed to terroir-driven viticulture at the highest level.

VDP Quality Classification – This is a page from the VDP website that explains their classification system of quality that is similar to the Burgundian system. It is not part of German law, but is a system that the members of the VDP use to distinguish quality.
