In this special episode of 1337 Wine TV, Mark visits one of the largest wine trade shows in the world – ProWein in Düsseldorf, Germany. This is his first visit to the “trade fair” as they call it. In this episode he sits down with Heinz Frischengruber of Domäne Wachau. Mark actually visited them on Day One of the trade fair and returned on Day Three to do the interview. He also tastes some other wines from other parts of the world including some Champagne.

Domäne Wachau

Viader – I got to meet all too briefly the Woman herself, Delia Viader. An icon of Napa winemaking.
Yao Family Wines – A somewhat new player in the wine world. This is a legit winery and not just a celebrity name attached to a wine. Some good quality stuff here.
Covert Estate – A definitely new wine to me. Excellent red blend I had.
Duckhorn Vineyards – I mentioned this California winery in the episode as a favorite.
Veuve Ambal – Did a short tasting with them. I visited the winery in October of 2017.
Bruno Paillard – I got to interview Bruno on Day Three and that interview will be featured on Episode 450 which is also my 10th Anniversary show.
Nicolas Feuillatte – I got to taste their new Champagne which is a blend of Premier Crus. Unfortunately it won’t be released to the States until maybe 2020.
Besserat de Bellefon – I got lucky to have a private tasting of some amazing Champagne from them.
