Are you like me and love maps? And are you also like me and really get frustrated with how many wine maps suck? OK, it’s gotten better over the last 3-5 years, but still, so many maps that those of us use for purpose of studying for any kind of exam really suck. I was fortunate enough to be contacted about reviewing a new map of the Marlborough region of New Zealand. It’s a 2-year project from Appellation Marlborough Wine. I also got 3 free samples of wines, but those will be done in future episodes. For this episode I’ll go into the story behind the map, the details in it, and what my thoughts are as a very amateur mapmaker myself.
This is the first episode of a 7-part series of New Zealand Wine. The next 3 episodes are reviews of three Marlborough Wines from wineries who are members of the Appellation Marlborough Wine group. After that the following 3 episodes will be a high-level deep dive of New Zealand wine. Those 3 won’t be out till some time in March however.
